Day 1 Across America
When we woke up the first morning on the train, I turned in the bed and curled up to Sam as the weather was getting quite chilly. He pulled me closer and said, "I cannot believe it got so chilly."
I said, "I am looking forward to a nice hot cup of tea."
He sighed and said, "Well, I am quite comfy here. Thankfully, it is quite early."
I sat up and opened the blinds to the window and said, "Oh my."
Looking out the window Sam joined me and the morning sunrise was showing a dew covered forest. Sam opened the window and handed me my camera. I sat on the desk and started snapping pictures. Sam wrapped a blanket around me and left the room for a moment. When he returned, he had a insulated cup with a teabag sticking out.
Sam said, "Green tea with honey."
"You are amazing," i said taking a sip.
He chuckled as he said, "I will remind you of that in five years as you yell at me for something stupid."
I almost spit the tea out and replied, "Alright that is fair."
Sam climbed up behind me and I leaned against him as I drank my tea and snapped pictures. I realized he had brought his own coffee in with him when he got my tea. We did not know how long I was taking pictures until Marcello knocked on the door and Sam told him to come in. He saw me taking pictures and said, "Well if we could pull you to a new location for more pictures Massie and Sam. Breakfast starts serving in about twenty minutes."
Sam said, "Let us pull on some warmer clothes and we will be out in a few minutes."
Marcello said, "Wonderful enough time for me to have another cup of coffee. Thank you for starting that Sam."
"Thank you for saving us."
When Marcello closed the door, Sam helped me stand up, and we started to get ready for breakfast. When we were ready, I grabbed my camera and small handbag with my wallet. Stalla led the way, and Marcello brought up the rear as we headed to breakfast. We were seated at a table at the back of the train and the waitress saw the camera. Leaning down she said, "You will be able to get some great shots from where you ae sitting. We clean the window three times a day so you can get great shots."
We all ordered our food, and I took out my phone to send Grandma a picture from the back of the train. I shot off the pictue with a message that we missed her breakfast.
