The world has changed, and the rich live in mansions where they celebrate the suffering of the poor. I watched people suffer and have worked my way up to help the poor in my community. What the community does not know is that I became a modern-day Robin Hood, taking from the rich who are stealing from the poor.
Chapter 1
I sat in the office of my home and watched the news on television. My butler walked in and said, "When I was coming in this morning, they were setting up for this."
Looking at him I asked, "What do you know?"
He sat down in front of me and said, "They are trying to push the families out of the affordable housing and build some high-rises."
"Let me guess, I said. "No options for these people they want to displace?"
He nodded and said, "So far no one is budging and I feel there is going to be trouble."
"What kind of help do they need?" I asked. Standing up I said, "Get the car ready. I have people I need to make an appearance and save some homes today."
He nodded and said, "I will call the bank."
Laughing, I said, "No need, I already did."
He nodded and said, "Miss Kara please I ask you to keep calm. These people you are going up against are top players. We need to keep these people safe."
"If I cannot save their homes," I said. "See how many apartments I have available at Mercy Estates. Owen Be discreet and let conner know that they will be special tenants."
He nodded and said, "Sure thing, boss. I will make sure everything is ready."
I walked to the elevator, and my assistant Max was ready. He called for the elevator, and we headed down to the parking garage. Getting into my SUV, we headed to the press conference. Max looked at me and said, "Do you think this is going to get bad?"
Sighing, I said, "God, I hope not."
