In my town, there is a tunnel that people will go into, but some never come out. When I took this job, I was told there would be an opportunity for advancement. What I didn't realize was what my job really was and what secrets were beneath my feet in the tunnels below.
Pulling up th my parking spot I saw Mitch the guard I was going to relieve looking anxious. Walking up to the office I said, "Evening Mitch are you alright?"
"Evening Melody," He said. "I am fine, it has been an odd day. No worries, though everything has calmed down. I was able to finish whittling the wooden spoons for my wife. Now I see your yarn sticking out of your bag. I hope you have a nice, calm night as well."
I watched Mitch leave and sat watching the cameras as I continued to work on the blanket I was making. Things were quiet until my supervisor, Malcolm, came into the camera room. I smiled and said, "Hey boss man how have things been?"
Giving a warm smile he said, "Not much. We did have some excitement a little earlier. Thats what I came to speak with you about."
"Mitch said something happened," I said. "However, he did not mention what happened."
Malcolm rubbed his face and said, "We had an attempted break-in."
