How old were you when you discovered that you were brought to the pier by your Gramps to distract people from what he was doing? The answer is twenty-one. Now my little food truck on the fishing pier hides all the not-so-savory business happening, and I am stuck. But its not a bad thing because I get to hit on the owners son and keep track of all the happenings that is going on. You know just in case.

My food truck carries a lot of drinks, an option of four meals and an option of bread. When the food is gone so am I. I normally make two to three pans of each of the four options. I pulled up to the food truck with the pans of the hot food and out on the warming oven and the serving pans. Looking at the sky I knew it was going to rain on and off. Thankfully my food truck is next to the picnic pavillion. After I had all of the pans where they needed to be I moved my car and then started the giant pot of coffee. 

I was getting all the conatiners ready and write the menu on a board. 

Meal One- Cheesy brocolli chicken and rice casserolle

Meal two- Baked spaghetti

Meal three- Meat pie (Sheppards pie version)

Meal four- Ham and Egg pie with Spinach

All Full or Split meals come with a choice of bread and a pudding cup or pack of cookies

Small serving- $7.99 Full Serving- $10.99 Two Main Meal $12.99

Once I had all my drinks that were cold in one cooler I added additional drinks to the second cooler and placed the sign out. A few of the local fisherman came up and purchased some split meals. I served them and heard a knock at the door. I opened the door to find Derek the pier owners son standing at the door.

Opening the door I said, "Derek what can I do for you?"

He looked me up and down and said, "A split meal and a date."

"What do you want for your split meal?" I asked. "Are you paying or am I deducting twenty from my rent next month."

He handed me a pier coin and I added it to the register and asked him, "What am I getting you?"

"I would like the Split meal with meal one and meal three," He said. "Wheat roll and a homemade pudding."

I made his plate and he asked, "What about that date?"

"I do not want to mix business and pleasure," I said. "You can find someone more in your circle."

"Ouch," He said. "Ell you know I am not into that circle shit."

"But Derek," I said. "Your mother is, and I do not want to deal with her."

I handed him the food and he said, "I will eventually get you to say yes and until then I will be glad to come get your meals."

His phone rang and he read the menu to whoever was on the phone. He chuckled and said, "Hey, Ell can you do a half and half for me, Meal one and four, wheat roll and cookies for dessert."

He handed me another coin and chuckled as I said, "Looks like I will have rent covered the way things are going."

Derek winked at me and said, "Until next time."

Ell- Main
