It all Started with a Fishing Trip- 3 book series

I woke up to a light shaking on my shoulder. My partner handed me a cup of coffee and said, "Come on love, you promised you would go today."

Sitting up I said, "You are so lucky that I keep my promises. Did you load the boat?"

He laughed as he walked out the door, "You bet I did. I also loaded the cooler and all the snacks. Before you ask I also added extra drinks in a bag."

Chuckling I climbed out of bed and got myself ready for our fishing trip on the lake. As I finished getting ready, I called out to Shane who I heard in the kitchen, "Are we taking the babies with us?"

Walking in with my cat leash he said, "Dogs are ready to follow us down the path and Princess is in her vest. She has been waiting by the door for the last fifteen minutes."

Pulling on my sneakers I said, "Well, I guess we are ready to go. Let's make sure the supply room door is covered and the house is locked."

Taking the leash I walked to the door and Princess let me hook her so she could walk out with us. Our dogs took that as their cue and after we locked the door behind us we headed to the dock. Following the path down to our boat dock we commented on how quiet it was today. We loaded onto our pontoon boat and started out of our channel and into the lake.

We started to fish as the sun began to rise. I sat eating my breakfast sandwich and fishing when I noticed a fog on land stopping at the lake. Standing up with my camera I started to take pictures of the fog surrounding the lake. Getting my partner's attention he said, "What the hell."

"Babe shut the motor off for a second," I said. "Listen to how quiet it is."

He leaned over and shut the pontoon boat off. We listened and he said, "I do not hear anything. Listen it's stopping at the lake and not coming onto the water. Let us put on the radio and see if the fog is mentioned."

Pouring the dogs some water I put the radio on and we heard, "This is an emergency alert. If you see the strange fog going over land avoid it at all cost. There have been reports of people approaching the fog and disappearing."

I looked at him and said, "I guess we ar on the water until the fog leaves the house."

He chuckled and then got serious, "Babe, listen we need to make sure that we stay ahead of the fog. I am glad we sealed the house with sealed windows and doors. As soon as we can get to the house we need to make a break for it."

Nodding I sighed and said, "I am glad I stocked the house with supplies."

He said, "I am glad the greenhouse is sealed and the chickens and rabbits are in a sealed yard. At least we will have food when we get back."
