Smiling I said, "Go for it these are the last for today."
He closed his eyes and said, "Vegetable broth, strawberry jam and I smell something spicy. Is that spicy jam?"
"The spice you smell is pickled jalapenos," I said. "With the weather turning I am clearing out the back garden. I have items dehydrating and my garden tables are full of items I am processing and canning."
Sam looked at the table and asked, "This is not all from your greenhouse and garden is it?"
"No," I said. "Some of this is from a few trusted gardeners. I want to get enough stock for when I am out next weekend. By then the garden and greenhouse will be picked clean and new seeds started while we are on our honeymoon."
He smiled, walking to me he put his arms around me and asked, "Do you want some help?"
I said, "Yes you can. See on the table the big basket of tomato's?"
"I see five baskets of tomatoes," He said. "Which ones?"
"The Roma," I said. "You can get those cut up and take the seeds out. That is going to be a sauce I am going to leave in a roaster oven overnight for tomato soup. I am going to clean up and flip all these jars."
He started to cut up the tomatoes and asked, "Did your freeze dryer come in?"
Making a face, I said, "No. It should be here tomorrow. Apparently, it is being delivered with the three new greenhouses and winter houses. i wanted to have them in and everything planted to have them going when we are gone. I also want to get the chicken coop up so we can get the chickens and ducks when we get back."
He asked, "What are you going to do about stock until the garden starts back up?"
"I have some places that I can get the produce," I said. "The local organic butcher will have fat and meat scraps as well. Then the local organic farms will have produce for me. We will only be gone for a week. But by the time we get back all the herbs should be flurishing and the seeds started."
